Making comics is hard...
When you're a full time animator, a husband, and a father of two! Sometimes I ask myself, "What the hell am I doing?!" when it's 1 in the morning and I'm staring at a bright screen in a dark room. But those of you doing it already know the answer. If I had any control over it maybe I would be watching tv or playing x-box (or sleeping!). Hell I was a few months back. But once you get bitten by the creator bug, it becomes a compulsion. You can't stop. So for now, It's late night inking sessions and early morning dailies. It's fine, just keep the coffee coming.
Importing 365 supers
I started a blog years ago called 365 Supers. It was an exercise in which I was supposed to draw an "original" super everyday for a year. It was supposed to be an exercise in creativity, work ethic and in some ways an exploration of style. I really wanted to get an idea of what was clicking with people and what wasn't.
Well I never finished. I still throw a couple of supers up every now but I think the height of 365 is well behind me. I'm posting it here 1) to share with a bigger audience and 2) because it's interesting to see how this exercise effected my work. A lot of this stuff is 2-3 years old now. I learned a lot from it.
